The Downtown Business Association of Escondido plans for the first annual Downtown Escondido Fashion Week presented by Mercedes Benz of Escondido. With designers Ricky Lizalde of Project Runway, Evening Wear and Bridals by Susanti, and sportswear by Miriam J showcasing their latest fashions, you will also see runway shows that include hair designers, make-up artists, downtown clothing boutiques, home accessory stores, and more.

In addition to the important designers showcasing their collections throughout the week, you can enjoy an outrageous Fashion Week launch party, an informal tea with Ricky Lizalde to benefit the Serenity House, and multiple trunk shows at the downtown art galleries and museums.

It will be an exciting week full of fun activities that celebrate the art of fashion, introduce visitors to our downtown, and give back to local charities with several dedicated events.

All events (excluding Spa Day) will be held at the former H. Johnson building located at 131 South Broadway. This building will be transformed into a world-class venue where the Downtown Business Association will host five events throughout the week.

About The Downtown Business Association

The Downtown Business Association of Escondido (DBA) oversees a comprehensive Downtown Revitalization Program, following the National Main Street approach, for a 68 square block area in Downtown Escondido. This assessment district was organized in 1989, at the request of business owners, to promote the business environment in the district. Its programs cover: Marketing, Special Events, Design Guidance & Historic Preservation, Economic Development, Security and Maintenance Advocacy and Community Enhancement.

The DBA is also the steward of the Business Improvement District. The BID ensures the continuance of on-going business advocacy, revitalization efforts, and promotion in Downtown Escondido on behalf of every business located in the BID.
